So, she devises a plan to escape and asks mob boss Vitaly Parlov to marry her, who is the enemy in her father's eyes. Pru always had a fascinating crush on Vitaly, and why not him?

Vitaly Parlov is a highly respected mob boss around town. He puts fear in everyone he meets. When a beautiful young woman crashes his dinner to ask him to marry her, he is shocked and takes the opportunity to use this against Pru's father. What he didn't expect was for Pru to weave his way into his heart and make it so that he doesn't even recognize the same man in the mirror.

"Trust me, little one. There are many things I could still do to ruin you."

These two characters had me so invested in the story. I love how Pru's brattiness came off the page with a sense of humor. Even so serious, Vitaly couldn't take it, either! They were total opposites, but it was yin and yang, as the Japanese would say.

The book had some violence thrown in, but it's a mob story, guys! Not over the top, I might add! It's a good story that was well balanced, as all of Alexa Riley's books give. The book is a five-star read, or as I like to say, get five hearts from me. I can't wait until the next book in the series comes out!
